I’m a writer/director whose films depict the dark, unexplored side of the human psyche. DEEP DARK was my feature debut. Previous works include short films KITTY KITTY (a love story about a brain parasite) and THE RATSNITCH ANGEL (which premiered at SXSW). Before filmmaking my background was in software development and engineering. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from Caltech, I cut my teeth in film by directing music videos (Kids Of Widney High), promos (ParkVogel, Overture) and television documentaries (Current TV). I currently reside in Portland, OR USA.

Death Is A Flower
The music video for Budhi Brown’s single: Death Is A Flower. It’s a grand guignol horrorshow
starring a gorgeous, cross-dressing, chainsaw-weilding female magician.
A failed artist finds a mysterious, talking hole in the wall. Will it fulfill his greatest
dreams, or will it become his worst nightmare?

The IAO’s first experimental project was a transmedia collaboration around the concept of
cultism, with filmmaker Mark Harris and perfumer
Josh Meyer of Imaginary Authors.
In November of 2012, Meyer and Harris began a process of discussion to create an olfactory
element to the storyworld Harris developed around ‘The Lost Children.’ The collaboration
revolved around the themes of cultism, brainwashing, obedience and initiation–concepts that
Meyer then used to inform the construction of the IAO’s first scent. The result of this
olfactory experiment was an integral part of the transmedia campaign that Harris designed
alongside his film, culminating in two live immersive experiences
at The Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center, in New York, in
January of 2013. More info at the Institute for Art and Olfaction.
Island Plastic Surgery
For their spot, IPS wanted to feature the many thank-you letters they regularly receive from
their clients. They opted for a simple testimonial with actual quotes from the letters.
Hole Diaries: Kinkade
A promo clip for Deep Dark. This was meant to be the Hole’s
video-diary of her time spent with Thomas Kinkade, Painter of Light™. Thomas Kinkade was one
of the most successful American painters in his lifetime but was overwhelmingly derided by the
fine-art world. Is it kitsch, true art, or both? In an interview Kinkade proclaimed, “I am
really the most controversial artist in the world.”
More about Thomas Kinkade
Inspired by a real-life disease, toxoplasmosis, which has recently been linked to altering
human behavior, Kitty Kitty is a short horror film about love, cats and brain parasites.
Official Selection: Palm Springs International Shortfest, Dead By Dawn, Omaha Film Fest,

Park Vogel 2007
A promo video for ParkVogel’s 2007 collection. ParkVogel wanted a fun, quirky video to
complement their style and philosophy. We did super fun off-the-cuff hula-hoop video shoot.
Park Vogel 2008
A fashion video for ParkVogel’s 2008 collection. They wanted stylish and elegant. We combined
themes of 1960’s French and Italian cinema to great effect. Video coming soon.
This is the music video for The Kids Of Widney High’s song
Pretty Girls. If you haven’t heard of The Kids, they’re a band of special education students
from an LA high school and they kick rectum. I know this because they told me so themselves.
The Kids are a continuing inspiration to me and this video reveals why everybody should love
them. –Adam Parfrey, Feral House Books
The Ratsnitch Angel
The Ratsnitch Angel is a disturbing tale about a boy who has an angel in his pocket. The film
is presented using ‘1.5D’ technology. Viewers require special glasses to see it.
It gave me a headache–in a good way.
